Let's get started!!

I have three very different tasks for you today:
First task: did you know that...
The chief reason most people want to learn English is to be able to communicate in the language and forge pathways into the wider world. Now a study published by the European Commission reveals that learning an additional language such as English may bring benefits that go beyond the ability to use the language itself. This report has implications for why, when and how we teach and learn English as a second or foreign language. (The report is at http://bit.ly/multiling)
Could you read pages 8 and 9 of the report and then tell me, briefly, about your experience in learning English, and how do you think it's helping you beyond the classroom??

Second task: Have you noticed the links I've posted for you on top of the blog? They're really interesting so why not trying? This is just a little sample of what you can do on the British Council website: have you travelled by plane recently?, do you remember what to do?, here's an exercise for you to check what a "first class traveller"you are. "Have a nice journey http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/drag_n_drop_games/airport/airport.html

Third task: once you've watched this video from the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8550622.stm, could you answer a couple of questions?:
a. how many passengers were on board?
b. what was the final destination?

I hope you enjoyed this activities. This is all for now.
